I wanted to learn more, speak more, hear more, read more. This fueled me to expand my knowledge of the language through my young adult years. During that time, I lived with a host family, volunteered in local centers, and also met my now-husband, Manuel, furthering my connection to the language. I spoke only Spanish wherever I went and with whomever I met.
